Yes. Since September 1, 2019, brass knuckles are fully legal to own, carry, manufacture, and sell in Texas.
What Changed?
Texas House Bill 446, signed by Governor Greg Abbott on May 24, 2019, removed brass knuckles from the list of prohibited weapons under Section 46.05 of the Texas Penal Code. Before this law, possession of brass knuckles was a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and a $4,000 fine.

Adults in Texas can legally:
- Own brass knuckles of any material (brass, aluminum, steel, zinc alloy)
- Carry them openly or concealed
- Purchase them in-state or have them shipped to Texas
- Sell them at retail or wholesale
Any Restrictions?
